I was determined to learn XUL this last days and when I knew what extension I would like to write because I was in the need in some missing features, I decided to start. And I really start everything from the beginning knowing nothing about extensions or XUL, so I learned and get helped a lot from pitux, a young XUL geek. I also make use of my current knowledge of XML and JavaScript, but I often spended hours around one thing because a lot of things are confusing since the update from Gecko 1.7 to 1.8.

The web site Mozilla Developer Center is a very good starting point, and XULPlanet is the full reference for XUL/JavaScript!
